Our primary purpose is to carry the message to the addict that
still suffers.
South Central Missouri Area of Narcotics Anonymous was formed in January
of 2004 with an intent and purpose to better serve the Narcotics Anonymous
meeting groups in south central Missouri.
The SCMANA area serves the Lake Ozarks area, Camdenton, and Eldon on the northern
boundary and to Rolla and beyond eastern boundary and Lebanon
southern boundary.
The
South Central Area of Narcotics Anonymous is a service body for the
fellowship of Narcotics Anonymous. It is comprised of groups within the South
Central Missouri Area as they are defined in the Temporary Working Guide to
the Service Structure, and it encourages these groups to participate in Area
activities.
The
South Central Missouri Area Service Committee consist of the Group Service
Represented (GSR’s) of these groups, Area Subcommittee Chairperson’s and
trusted servants, and any other interested member of NA. It is ever mindful of
the spiritual principles expressed in the Twelve Traditions of NA and strives
to follow the true conscience of the NA Fellowship.
The
Area’s primary purpose is to provide the support and services necessary for
these groups to better carry the message of Narcotics Anonymous: “That an
addict, any addict, can stop using drugs, lose the desire to use, and find a
new way to live.” The functions of the ASC includes serving as a link of
communication between groups and the Show-Me Region and providing for themselves
so that they may better carry the message of recovery. The unity of the
members of the ASC is crucial to its survival and to its effective function
as a service unit to the group.
There
are no ruling bodies in NA. Only trusted servants. It should be noted that
the procedures set forth in this set of guidelines are simply that ---
guidelines --- based on procedures that have been proved to be effective.
Through these guidelines, the uniformity necessary may be found so that all
can act together for the common of the fellowship of Narcotics Anonymous.
